Project Summary
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is scheduled to begin a roadway project the week of June 10 along SR 916/NW 135 Street/NW 136 Street from west of NW 30 Avenue to east of NW 27 Avenue in Miami-Dade County.

WORK TO BE PERFORMED

• Shifting the westbound Opa-locka Boulevard entrance further west to enhance safety
• Adding an additional eastbound left turn lane at the intersection of SR 916/NW 135 Street and NW 27 Avenue
• Upgrading crosswalks at the following intersections:
  • SR 916/NW 135 and NW 27 Avenue
  • SR 916/NW 135 and NW 30 Avenue
  • Opa-locka Boulevard and NW 27 Avenue
• Improving drainage along the project limits
• Adding school zone signage and pavement markings
• Reconstructing sidewalks and pedestrian ramps at various locations
• Upgrading pedestrian signage and signals
• Upgrading pedestrian railing on northbound and southbound NW 27 Avenue adjacent to the Opa-locka Canal
• Adding vehicle detection video equipment 
• Installing pavement traffic detectors
• Installing countdown pedestrian signals at various locations
• Repaving and restriping the road within the project limits

LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION
Travel lanes and sidewalks will be closed during non-peak hours on non-event days. Non-peak hours are:

• 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays and weekends
• 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. weekdays and weekends

Note: Drainage work might require weekend daytime closures from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

DETOUR INFORMATION
Pedestrian and vehicular detours will be established at times and may exceed past the non-peak lane closures hours. Specific detour information will be provided before the corresponding construction activity is scheduled.
