The FDOT vision is to serve the people of Florida by delivering a transportation system that is fatality and congestion free.

FDOT is a decentralized agency in accordance with legislative mandates, composed of seven districts. Each of the districts is managed by a District Secretary. The districts vary in organizational structure, but in general each has major divisions for Administration, Planning, Production and Operations. Also, each district has a Public Information Office and General Counsel Office that report to the District Secretary.

District Six is responsible for planning, designing, building and maintaining all State-owned roadways and bridges in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. The district is home to 2,553,400 people. Its roads are traveled more than 30.8 million miles daily. Whether you are a resident, business operator or a visitor, you can count on us to help you travel through the District.

Tonight and Weekend Full Closures for Bridge Repairs Along NW 12 Avenue/NW 13 Avenue at SR 826/Palmetto Expressway Sep 26, 2024 Download the Press Release Beginning tonight, September 26 at 9:30 p.m. until Friday, September 27 at 5 a.m. a full closure and detour will be in place along NW 12 Avenue/NW 13 Avenue at State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway. Work will be taking place in preparation to reconstruct the bridge that was struck by a tractor trailer, not associated with the Golden Glades Interchange (GGI) Project.

Full Closure of Southbound SR 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road between NW 107 Avenue and NW 116 Way/Hialeah Gardens Boulevard Sep 25, 2024 Download the Press Release All lanes along southbound State Road (SR) 25/US 27/Okeechobee Road will be closed nightly starting at 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 26 until Saturday, September 28.Travel lanes will reopen to traffic daily by 5:30 a.m. This closure will allow the contractor to install foundations for overhead signs in the area. Please note, this is a nighttime operation and construction noise is expected.

Roadway Reopened Along NW 12 Avenue/NW 13 Avenue at SR 826/Palmetto Expressway Sep 24, 2024 Download the Press Release All northbound and southbound lanes and pedestrian access have been reopened along NW 12 Avenue/NW 13 Avenue at State Road (SR) 826/Palmetto Expressway. Work crews completed the first phase of emergency repairs due to the bridge being struck by a tractor trailer. One westbound travel lane and the outside shoulder remains closed along SR 826/Palmetto Expressway.

These closures will allow crews to perform bridge work, stormwater drainage installation, roadway paving, utility work and temporary concrete barrier wall installation.
